Sequoyah E3400 & E3300 Outdoor Wood Frunace

If you are looking for an outdoor wood furnace which will use less wood, creates less smoke, and create more heat then anything else on the market you have came to the right place.

We are still waiting for the EPA to review the test of our E3400 Gasification Outdoor Wood Furnace in order to get our orange sticker but if you would like to review the test results click this link

Advantages of the E3400

1.       Much less Emissions. Tested by Intertec laboratories using the EPA owhh test procedure and results shown to be .32 lbs per MBTU of wood burned. This compares to old style furnaces that average 1.8 lbs per MBTU of wood burned.

2.       Much less smoke then old style furnaces. Also any exhaust you will smell will not be the acidic smell that the old style furnaces produce.

3.       Uses less wood for the same amount of heat, 20-50% less than most other models on the market. This means if you use 20 loads of wood a year with the old style furnaces you will only use 10-15 loads with an E3400.

4.       No creosote in the exhaust stream. Used properly these furnaces will not produce creosote in the chimneys or heat exchange area.

5.       No creosote means no chance of chimney fires. You can add additional chimney without the worry of coming out to your furnace and having a big fire streaming into the air.

6.       No sparks. The long travel path and extreme cooling of the exhaust means no sparks coming out of the chimney.  This greatly reduces the chance of a fire around the stove.

7.       Lockable doors with keys. Keep the kids, mother in law, or other unwanted individuals from gaining access to the stove or controls.

8.       Easy to read water level indicator. Water level is indicated by a float mounted on the top of the furnace. Can be seen from 100 yards away if you need to add water.

9.       Easy cleanout. Stove is cleaned by the use of a ash pan\ash scoop once a week. No need to turn some auger or burn your coat arms shoveling ash out of the feed door.

10.   Clean design. Stove does not become smoke covered like other models on the market. It is designed to not show smoke in area that it may come out of.  In addition there is not creosote running down the chimney so you do not get a roof covered in creosote or ash.

An explanation of how this outdoor wood furnace works follows.

  1. Wood is loaded into the firebox all the way to the top.

  2. Air is injected using a forced draft blower from the rear of the furnace. The outdoor wood furnace is designed such that there is no way for the air to escape except to go down though spaces in the firebrick in the bottom of the outdoor wood furnace. This causes the fire and smoke to get very turbulent in the firebox and mixed very well with an excessive amount of oxygen.

  3. The exhaust exits through openings in the bottom of the outdoor wood furnace floor made of heavy duty firebrick. It then separates into 2 separate exhaust streams and travels through an insulated maze of firebrick tunnels over 12 feet long. it is forced to change direction many times and gets adequate time to burn all of the gases and to drop out much of the fine emissions.  This area gets very hot, sometimes in excess of 2000 degrees.

  4. After this the 2000 degree exhaust enters the heat exchange area where the exhaust temperature is brought down to temperatures of under 300 degrees

  5. After exiting the the heat exchangers it then travels another 6 feet and then exits the chimney pipe on the top of the outdoor wood furnace.
