The stove is a down draft gasification unit with
exhaust temperatures of less than 300 degrees. It will define a
whole new meaning of efientcy in outdoor furnaces. And when sized
properly you will see true 24 hour burn times between fillings with
low emissions, something unheard of in the industry.
The EPA has started a new voluntary program for
manufacturers of Outdoor wood fired hydronic heaters, otherwise
known as outdoor wood furnaces or OWB's. Information about this can
be found at
http://www.epa.gov/woodheaters We at
Sequoyah Paradise have always been for reducing emissions and making
furnaces that are more efficient so we have signed on to this
program.
One should be advised that the EPA is not trying
to eliminate Outdoor wood furnaces, but wants them to be constructed
in such a manner that they pollute less. The technology is available
and when constructed properly the cost will be similar or marginally
higher. You will save time and money by not having to cut as much
wood.
The 2 items above go hand in hand, less emissions
will mean more efficient combustion, which ultimately will mean that
you will make less wood, and there will be less smoke in your
neighborhood.
